The first stage of the design thinking process DigiNation focuses on user-centric research, putting into consideration empathy and feelings as a crucial to problem solving and a human-centered design process and using real insight into users and their needs. ​

In the Define stage, DigiNation organize the information that have been gathered during the understanding phase, analyzing the observations to define the core problems and problem statement and various ways of resolution in a human-centered manner. ​

During the third stage of the design thinking process, designers are ready to generate ideas. now we understand the users and their needs, and we have analyzed the observations. With this solid background, DigiNation’s team becomes ready to look at the problem from different perspectives and to ideate innovative solutions.​

Now a number of inexpensive, scaled down versions of the product (or specific features found within the product) will be produced to investigate the key solutions generated in the ideation phase. These prototypes can be shared and tested within the team itself, in other departments or on a small group of people outside the design team.​

Designers or evaluators rigorously test the complete product using the best solutions identified in the Prototype stage. This is the final stage of the five-stage model; however, in an iterative process such as design thinking, the results generated are often used to investigate any further problems. ​
